I'm sure at some point in every persons life they look at a child and wish that just for a day they could live as care free as they do...no agenda (other than wondering whats for lunch and chasing the cat around the house of course), their imaginations running wild, expending as much energy as possible, and knowing that mom somehow can make everything better.
So I tried it out for a day...and after flipping though a children's book, I came across an unforgettable suggestion, by Dr. Seuss himself:
"Today is your day, your mountain is waiting, get on your way..."
I suppose now, the 'Places I will Go' include Asia...
Who knew that such a small proposal, could lead me to quit my job, leave my family, and move my life over 7,500 miles away from everything I know. Currently I'm preparing myself to have two kinds of days during this adventure: good or great. Let the count down begin!
Leaving Bend: April 15
Leaving USA: April 23
Arriving in Asia: April 25

ReplyDeleteAMAZING.... It seems to me that those letters should be able to rearranged to spell MARIAH! So exciting for you! When I was your same age I went on a plane for the very first time and moved to Hawaii to be a nanny.... doesn't seem like much compared to the adventure you are about to undertake, But it did change me forever..... take lots of pictures, write in a journal and never say no to a new adventure. There is nothing like jumping off that waterfall because you trusted a stranger. Wishing you all the good and great days that you can endure,,, may your smiles forever be bright!
