WILD ANIMALS!

Ok, well it was the local zoo. We spent the day with Rob and his wife from Ausralia. We met them as they were passing through Thailand on their way to serve in Berma on a 3 month international building assignment.  Both being new to the area we thought we would tour around the Chiang Mai sights together.
First stop: the biggest, strangest zoo we have ever been too.

Does anyone else think that this looks like some sort of dinosaur? I mean really.

We all wanted to squeeze this little creature SO much! (The Common Marmoset)

I just cant get enough of elephants!

Next stop on the scooters:
 The famous Doi Suthep Temple

Take your shoes off, cover your knees, and hide your shoulders!

Although this one was covered in gold, every temple around this part of the world seems the same to me now...
However, there were great veiws of the City from the top of the hill

We again jumped on to our scooter and followed the windy roads to a Hmong Hill Tribe Village. On the way I thought was going to explode...is popping, and smoke from the exhaust normal?? Joking. I did feel like I was in the movie Uncle Buck...just waiting for it to shoot fire out the back. Up the hills it wouldnt accelerate and down hills the brakes didnt work. I told tyese, at least we were staying at a consistent speed at all times, no speeding up and no slowing down. It made for an interesting drive thats for sure.

Anyways, we made it to the village, and Tyese was set on finding the secret waterfall she read about...we never found it (some day we will!). On the way back we stopped at the other "well known" waterfalls...and explored.

Watering Hole!! A lovely natural water slide and swimming whole before it turned into a waterfall.

Becky (from the states), her husband Tyler (from South Africa), his Dad Mike, us and the couple from Australia headed to Burma
To keep our sanity from the heat, after service or on day off = being in water
Playing some VB with the locals
How Cute is this?
Mikes teaching us new games that are similar to ours in the states...instead of racquetball its called "squash"

Another Benefit to Thailand...massage anytime of the day :)

On a side note:
Remember this picture? I spotted someone that did much better, we have serious room for improvement hehe
