Everest Base Camp

After the exciting accomplishment of Island we headed to the all too famous 'base camp'...Everest base camp that is. On the way we talked with many different hikers, some of which were training, waiting, to climb the highest mountain in the world.  Crazy enough, we met a crew from Oregon, even crazier, one from Bend. During our discussion of how he felt as he was preparing his first attempt to summit the deadly mountain the phrase "Maybe I'll see you some Tuesday night at BBC" (bend brewing company...locals night) it melted my heart a little, I will always miss bend when I'm away, its such an amazing little town.

EBC was not what I expected at all...
Taking those moments, standing there on that glacier, looking at the route to the tallest mountain in the world was surreal. Thinking about all the people that had ever stepped foot on the summit, and those who had failed...those mountaineers that trained so hard and reached their goal to stand on the top...and those who lost their life because of it.  Who knew such a small area on a glacier, splattered with little colorful tents and prayer flags could hold so many dreams and aspirations of so many people...that is where their journey begins...and yet, in the end, its just another mountain.

One of us is not like the other....his name is Zac, a hilarious guy from Vancouver kept 'bummpin into us' on our whole trek, and eventually attached himself to us for most of the way back

First hydroflask at EBC?????
To everyone at Falling Waters Physical Therapy!!!
Thanks for getting my knee working right again, its what got me here

After the day at EBC we woke up at 2:30 a.m. to hike Kalapathar (we must really like to hike in the dark or something hehe) again, the night sky was incredible....countless shooting stars, and we made it to the top in plenty of time to watch every moment of the sunrise over Everest.

Everest is the darker mountain in the middle without any snow on it

Everything went as planned, now all we had to do was get down and out...Lukla here we come
