After loosing a disheartening amount of elevation (we worked so hard to get that high) we ended up in Lukla. Only days before we flew out there was a deadly plan crash in the Himalayas...21 people died, and when I saw the airport and landing strip I didn't question why.
After we passed through "security" (I'm not sure I would call it that when they simply ask me what was in my pockets) I was handed a ticket that looked like a bus ticket, no name, date, seat number...and after I steped on the plane I realized that we could do as we choose. No flight attendant telling you to buckle up for take off, no going over 'in case of an emergency' procedure, no pressurizing the cabin...defiantly a different routine than what I'm use to.
