We Certainly dont seem to have a problem filling our spare time with fun mini adventures, for the most part it includes water, and friends.

| The Quarry...again. It has become a weekly "before meeting on Sunday" ritual. |
Last Monday we set out on a mini adventure about 30 minutes out of town on a hunt for a secret waterfall. But when an unexpected guard stopped us from entering until we paid a pretty penny to get in because foreigners we sadly walked away. Instead we detoured at a few bakeries along the way, because cookies make everything better, right?
We came up with a better strategy for the next waterfall we came to and snuck through the back way so as to miss the entrance gate
Saturday after service adventure:
We headed out east to the known climbing spot of Chiang Mai. As we drover further out of town the air became cleaner, cooler, and the rolling hills were greener. It was so nice to get away from the city. Passing groups lead climbing gave me a little warm fuzzy feeling of home...Instead of pine trees there were colonies of bamboo.
We found a few caves off the beten path. After cobwebs, bats, and belly crawling, one of the caves opened up into a small room with walls that looked like sparkling coral, it was amazing.
The another we walked back into looked like a dead end, until we saw a old wooden ladder leading up into a dark hole, the only sound was of the rusty nails in the ladder creaking as we attempted to climb up them. Why are caves SO exciting?!
And then, we found two great things combined into one, a cave with climbing in it....
We finished up a great day of adventuring with a game of Rugby, and late night salsa music at the "north gate".
Life has been pretty great here...
We did have one minor mishap. People say its not a question of if its going to happen but when.
Earlier this week we got in a small scooter accident when someone pulled out infront of us and stopped in the middle of the road while it was pouring rain...brakes, hydroplaning, skidding across the road, really only resulted in a chunk missing out of Tyeses elbow and road rash on the right side of my body. After I doctored us all up we are healing quite nicely.
When some in the Congregation saw our scratches they said, "Yep, you officially live here now, you have the Chiang Mai tattoo..."
