Service. Food. Play. Repeat.

 Service.

Its been a packed two weeks of service. Lots of early morning at markets and bus stations...searching for foreigners throughout the city...and checking not at homes to carry us into the evening.  In case you were wondering, yes, Americans in general are still as uninterested as they are when they are in their home country, imagine that.  Again, I NEED TO LEARN THAI.
Just yesterday we found a lovely Thai women that spoke good English.  She invited us to come sit on her shaded patio surrounded by a Koi fish pond, palm trees (how lovely!). Even though she was Buddhist she wanted to know more about the bible, she never read out of one before we came.  When we told her about the free study program we offered, she asked us to come back the next week. There's defiantly interest in the local field here.

Coffee Break!
headed to the territory on our scooters

Just from dawn until dusk. hehe. Just finishing up our day in service.

Our Congregation

 FOOD.

Yes. I think we have all established we do enjoy eating here. Although, i would say this particular dining adventure was more about the experience than the "tasty" food. I felt as if i was walking into a caravel, in reality it was one of Chaing Mai's most popular buffets.  Literally hundreds of people swarming long tables of food that is up for the taking.
First: I'm kind of against buffets...even the word bothers me. buffet.
Second: I'm even more against raw meat buffets. ( i will explain further)
but despite my personal preferences and the fact that if i was ever going to get food poisoning it would probably be here...I ate anyways...and i ate a lot.

Ok...back to the whole raw food thing. Yes, there is a table of precooked items, but the whole idea behind this place is choosing from bins the raw meat or fish, or other mystery items (tyese accidentally picked up chicken feet, i saved her life by telling her what is was milliseconds before it reached her lips) you prefer and cooking your own concoction at your table over a hot coal plate. I must say...the fruit table at this place was AMAZING. I'm pretty sure i had 3 plates of just fruit, along with all the other things we tried.
I cant believe I actually ate this creature

 PLAY.

The quarry called us again today. Why is it so scary yet so fun to push your body off a cliff into water?

This is such a nice place to get away from all the foreigners. Is that funny thing to say? Well, because we ourselves are, and we have been in this country for what, a whole 22 days? Apparently it seems like home to us already...and the constant nagging from the tuk tuk drivers and the sellers at the night market just because we are white gets pretty annoying, fast...hence the searching for places that nobody else knows about.

Oh, and the best idea EVER.

Tonight held one of the greatest dessert creations known to mankind. Ok, maybe it wasn't that epic, but i think it was pretty amazing. And who better to share it with than our great foodie friends Tyler and Becky.
Waffles seem to be quite the "thing" here at the night markets...Strange i know.  So we grabbed some warm waffles (banana and chocolate) and ran across the street for soft serve at none other than McDonalds. How is it that i would never be caught dead at fast food restaurant in the states but in other country's its ok? well...only for ice cream.

So-Wa-de-ka Ronald haha...made just for Thailand
